Last week, we had the honor of joining partners from and to meet with students from this year’s Realize Tacoma cohort. We got real about the barriers students face when trying to get to college, from financial hurdles and transportation challenges to simply knowing who to ask for help.
Postsecondary education is still one of the most powerful tools for generational change. But getting students to college is only half the battle. They need real, ongoing support to succeed.
These remarkable students wrapped up their week with 40 conversations all across Tacoma, and they’re not stopping there. They’re kicking off a year-long movement with community panels to keep these important conversations going.
