LMCC Board Member, Kimi Ginn has been instrumental in organizing a wonderful event for the community! Please don't miss the opportunity to attend this dynamic event.

In 1926 Dr. Carter G. Woodson began the organized and intentional celebration of Black History by establishing Negro History Week. He is also the author of the phenomenal book entitled the Mis-Education of the Negro, which is still in print today.
To honor Dr. Woodson's legacy and preserve Black History observances, Vibrant Schools of Puget Sound along with Black Student Union (BSU) students at Lakes High School are presenting an exciting centennial celebration on Sunday, February 15th 3-5 pm. Details are listed on the attached flyer.

I am absolutely thrilled to see my ideas and vision come to life!🙌🏿 At Vibrant Schools of Puget Sound, we are proud to introduce our latest initiative, the Youth Activism Academy (YAA). 🎉

Our main goal is to collaborate with young individuals and support their mission of fostering cultural resilience within their schools. 🌍 As change agents, we empower the youth to become advocates for the positive change they wish to see in their educational institutions. 💪🏿

Through engaging discussions, historical education, and thought-provoking activities, we provide the tools and platform for critical thinking skills to thrive. 🤔✨

But that's not all! Stay tuned for an extraordinary event coming up during Black History Month. Hello Everyone!
Student Energy training program (free) for young people (18-30 YO) that focuses on careers in the energy sector (energy transition). If you work with or know young folks who might be interested, please share.

The program equips youth with the technical, dynamic and durable skills necessary for them to land an internship or entry-level role in the energy sector. The program develops project management, data analytics, interdisciplinary teamwork and leadership through hands-on learning experiences.
