WWAHP Our mission is to win the war against hunger by reducing the number of hungry children and starving individuals who struggle with hunger. But we need your help.

EL Shaddai Christian Ministries (ESCM) through The Empowerment Center engages services to the neediest members of society to include the Winning The War Against Hunger Project. Each year the need is intensifying. As of 2014, 1 in 5 children live in homes that struggle with hunger in Washington State, which increased from 1 in 6 at the end of 2012. Currently, 1 in 7 seniors face hunger and 1 in 6 i

ndividuals rely on SNAP (Food Stamps) which funding has been decreased due to budget cuts. The need for food is critical now and threatening to become more intensely severe without aggressive action, since JBLM has announced a plan to downsize by 1,200 troops and civilian personnel. WWAHP is totally funded by donations from individuals and our partner nonprofit organizations who receive food donations for their feeding programs. At full funding we have the capacity to divert good wholesome food away from the sanitary landfill to the table of more than 700 families per week through our network of community based nonprofit organizations. Currently we are operating at less than 50% of our capacity, but in position to provide more food to more starving children and individuals. To maintain our current level of intervention and expand to meet the rapidly growing need for food, we need your financial support. NO CONTRIBUTION IS TOO SMALL AND ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE. However:

$5.00 will feed a family of 5 for 5 days. DONATE NOW

Our Story

"Winning The War Against Hunger Project"

El Shaddai Christian Ministries (ESCM) through The Empowerment Center engages in other services to the neediest members of society to include the WINNING THE WAR AGAINST HUNGER PROJECT. The purpose of this project is to provide food to the working poor, needy families, senior citizens and individuals, some of whom are homeless.

This is accomplished through our distribution network to other organizations externally, and through our food bank internally. The program is operated by a 100% volunteer staff who are encouraged to take free groceries home every time they serve. As many as 85 individuals each year who are unemployed, under employed, and disabled secure employment through the work experience and training that they gain from their volunteer experience in The Food Distribution Program. Through our operations we are able to redirect thousands of tons of wholesome food each year away from sanitary land fills to the tables of people who would otherwise go hungry. These individuals have been empowered to reverse the cycle of poverty and become self sufficient contributors to the community!
