Grit-City HEMA We are a Historical European Martial Arts club located in Downtown Tacoma and serving greater Tacoma Club dues are $60/month.

Our goal is to produce well-rounded, capable historical fencers who elevate the standards of both their fellow training partners and the community at large through their skill, dedication, courage, and ethical conduct. We believe in, and strive to uphold an ethic of hard work, scholarship, athleticism, and courtesy, and together craft a place where dedicated, energetic people who are willing to wo

rk hard and treat one another - and the arts we study - with respect can improve both themselves and each-other. For new students the 1st class is FREE.

This post is a reminder to all the Trans fencers in the HEMA community, but those who have attended Grit City previously, at any point, whether you’ve chosen us to be your regular club or not:

And in our space, nobody will mess with you. Grit City is a family as much as a club, and you are family. We continue to support you, and no matter what sort of hate is sent your way, we will not put up with it.
