POP QUIZ. 👀

Who prosecutes criminal cases for Pierce County?

Who oversees our local elections?

What does a County Councilmember actually do?

And what exactly are you sending a State Representative to Olympia to do?

We see the titles. We see the names.

But knowing what the job actually does is a whole different thing.

That's one of the things we're getting into at On My Bloc(k): From the Block to the Ballot.

We'll have interactive activities where you can match elected positions to their responsibilities, learn who handles what, and connect those jobs back to things happening in everyday community life.

And from 11 AM–1 PM, you'll have a chance to talk with candidates and ballot-measure representatives themselves.

You don't have to already know.

Come find out.

Okay, so what's up with the (K)? 👀

It's a play on words.

🏘️ Your block is where you live, work, learn, hang out and build community.

🗳️ Your bloc is the people who share some of your concerns and priorities, and the power people can have when they participate together.

That's On My Bloc(k).

Because what happens on the ballot can show up on your block. And what's happening on your block should matter to the people making decisions.

Come talk about it with us.

🎉 Help Us Celebrate President Malando Redeemer’s 30th Birthday!

Today, President Redeemer celebrates 30 years, and we’re inviting our community to honor the occasion by supporting something he has dedicated so much of himself to: the work of the Tacoma NAACP Branch.

Over the last two years, our Branch has worked to increase HOPE throughout our community — creating opportunities for engagement, advocacy, education, youth development, connection, and service.

As President, Malando remains committed to increasing that HOPE while helping build our collective POWER throughout Pierce County — bringing people together, strengthening community voice, developing leaders, and expanding our capacity to advocate for justice and equity.

For his 30th birthday, we invite our members, friends, partners, and community supporters to celebrate him by making a contribution directly to the Tacoma NAACP Branch in his honor.

This campaign is not about giving a personal gift to Malando. It is an opportunity to invest in the work, mission, and community he has committed himself to serving.

If Malando’s leadership, partnership, advocacy, or service has impacted you, we hope you’ll consider celebrating this milestone with us.

💛 Give in honor of President Redeemer's 30th birthday:

Celebrate 30. Increase HOPE. Build our collective POWER. Continue the work.

Please join us in wishing President Malando Redeemer a very happy 30th birthday! 🎂

The Tacoma-Pierce County NAACP wants to hear directly from our community. The We The People Vote survey asks what matters to you, what gets in the way of voting and civic participation, and what would make it easier or more worth your while to get involved.

Whether you vote in every election, sometimes, rarely, or not at all, your perspective matters. What they hear will shape the committee’s civic engagement work going forward.
