One of the schools we teach cooking classes with is having an after school event-and though we couldn’t give monetarily we are able to give fresh produce and foods for families to take home.

We’ve got scapes, herbs, rhubarb and chives from the garden along with a bunch of dry goods. What a privilege to be able to partner with their amazing staff!
For the pantry we had a HUGE surplus of beans. So we made 80 frozen bean burritos. But then we still had more beans :/ So that will be a bean bake.
Beans beans the magical fruit🎶

Sadly we have cancelled our fundraiser set for tomorrow. We just did not sell enough tickets ahead of time to justify it! So the board and I made a hard call and cancelled.
I am pretty disappointed-it was an inexpensive event, in a beautiful space, supporting an incredible artist. But it just couldn’t be done. We advertised and and offered discounts-and that just unfortunately didn’t turn into ticket sales.

I will be refunding tickets today with my sincere apologies! Maybe it will work out next time. Thank you to all who supported us!

And if you would like to give to our kitchen-there’s still a donate link on soupnladle dot com.

Until next time!

This Saturday’s community meal is cancelled!

I apologize! We are partnering with Ignite Ministries as a way to connect students with the greater community, and have a high attendance of students to these meals. Since students are entering into Spring break we will be postponing this weekends meal until next month.

I will keep you updated on these changes as we work on a more consistent schedule that aligns with community need.

Please ask any questions in the comments, and I’ll do my best to get back to you. Thank you!

We’re back! We took a break to restructure community meals-one of the big focuses being a shift towards more community involvement.
This community meal is supported by us (same place same time) but we have cooking for us. I’m excited!

We are also looking forward to providing a sharing table for food you can donate-more on that next month.

And as usual I am requesting your patience and kindness as we figure out the new details-I’ll be present at the meal if you have any questions for me.

See you soon!

Did you know that this nonprofit started as simply an avenue to provide community meals in partnership ? But in the years past has grown to be so much more than that.

Now-after years of support Parkland Foursquare is closing-and we are having to rethink what our community meals look like without them.

We will still do community meals! But have to take this month off to regroup. Thank you parkland foursquare for all your years of service to this community. We’ll miss you.

Thank you for having us last weekend at your holiday market. It was a great vibe! We were also able to raise additional funds for our nonprofit kitchen.

This giving Tuesday there are lots of ways to donate to our community meals, cooking classes, and ready to eat meals for food pantries! This is especially important as our activities only increase around the holidays.

You can go to the link in our bio to give on our website. You can give using the donate button. Or you can sign us up as the recipient of the Fred Meyer community rewards program (go to your Fred Meyer member online account, and you’ll find “community rewards” under your profile information).

Without you we wouldn’t be thriving! So thank you, so much, for all you are doing for this community.

Sincerely,
Rachel

Community meal tonight from 4:30-6!

Notes for tonight:

-I am NOT cooking tonight as I am sick enough to make others sick. Filling in for me are Ethan and Justus-please be gracious as they don’t normally cook for this many people.

-This Thanksgiving meal we will be providing the main meats-roast chicken and ham along with other goodies from the garden. Please bring something to share! Specifically vegetable sides, rolls and desserts.

Have fun!
