I am a 23 year resident of Tacoma and a dedicated advocate for the Lincoln District. I have worked as a real estate broker since 2004 and have worked part-time in community development consulting and home staging/design services for over 10 years. Here you will find news and events relating to T-Town and beyond! This page embodies what I love - everything urban, community development, real estate, public policy/government, education, cultural activities/events (I also LOVE cultural anthropology), small business promotion, pop culture, architecture/old house love, history, travel. I've often thought I may have missed my calling in journalism. Here you will sometimes also find news about the housing market, real estate development, real estate abroad, mortgage lending, economics, urban planning, sustainability, and other topics ad hoc. Many posts will be Tacoma-specific, but if they aren't, they're here to create interest in the context of Tacoma and Pierce County. This page is intended to be a community resource for all. Uwajimaya will soon open a new branch in Issaquah, in the former Rite Aid space in Town & Country Square. The Seattle-based Asian market is also opening soon in Tacoma, its sixth store.

A little honesty from Naomi Joe. ❤️

Naomi Joe has grown into a coffee company reaching customers across the country, while our café here in Tacoma has struggled to find its footing.

Those challenges pushed us to grow our roasting, mobile, and online businesses, but it’s time for our physical storefront to share in that success.

Our goal is $600 a day in café sales.

We’re open nine hours a day. That’s just $1.11 in sales per minute.

Our team shows up every day ready to serve, share their passion for coffee, and create an experience worth coming back for. They deserve a bustling café where they can do what they love.

We hear all the time that Tacoma wants Naomi Joe in a standalone space. We’d love that too. But before we can consider expanding, we need consistent support for the café we already have.

We believe in what we’ve built, and we believe it deserves more local support.

So we’re asking for it.

Come grab a coffee. Bring a friend. Make us part of your routine.
