The Washington State Tacoma Korean American Association was honored to host Washington State elected officials, community leaders, veterans, and active-duty service members at the Korean War Memorial in Olympia for the 76th Commemoration of the Korean War.

Today, we remember the sacrifice of Korean and U.S. service members, along with our United Nations allies, who fought to defend freedom on the Korean Peninsula 76 years ago. Their courage and sacrifice must never be forgotten.

s the Korean Peninsula remains under an armistice, we also thank the service members who continue to stand watch in defense of peace and security today. We remain hopeful for a peaceful future and the eventual reunification of Korea.

We honor the past, support those serving today, and will never forget.

On 31 March, 2026, the Executive Team from the Washington-Tacoma Korean American Association (WA-TKAA) secured a grant from the Federation of Korean Associations of the United States, honoring our consistent dedication and outstanding initiatives supporting the Tacoma community and neighboring areas. We will channel these funds to strengthen and expand programs throughout our community. Excellent job, Executive Team!

Incredible and insightful session on using AI in everyday life!

On 17 March 2026, Vice President Noh Hee-Jin of the Tacoma Korean American Association delivered a practical, easy-to-follow lecture on how to use major AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini right from your iPhone or Android smartphone for Seniors in our community. The session highlighted real-life examples that participants can immediately apply in their daily routines.

The engagement was fantastic, with active questions and meaningful discussions throughout the lecture. It was inspiring to see our community come together to learn and embrace new technology in such a hands-on way.

We had an amazing Korean Lunar New Year celebration alongside the 49th Inauguration of WA-TKAA President Kyung Vincent, Chairwoman Chong Dameron, along with her new cabinet members!

The event brought together approximately 800 people from our local community, including distinguished guests and local leaders. A special thank you to Senator Jeff Wilson, Deputy Tacoma Mayor Joe Bushnell, WDVA Director David Puente, and Tacoma Community College President Dr. Ivan Harrell for joining us at our annual event.

This celebration showcased the rich diversity of Tacoma and the unity, inclusiveness, and spirit of multiculturalism within the Korean American community. We look forward to an amazing and productive year ahead! 🇰🇷✨

The Tacoma Korean American Association of Washington State will host our 26th Korea Day on February 7 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a celebration of multiculturalism, diversity, and unity in the Tacoma Korean American community. The event has two parts: Part I starts with a 11:00 AM reception and 11:30 AM ceremony featuring the inauguration of Im Kyung Vincent as the 49th President, the introduction of new staff members and honorary board members, and a transition honoring outgoing President Chang Pom Kim, followed by congratulatory speeches from distinguished guests. Part II (12:30 PM–3:00 PM) celebrates Korean culture and the multicultural spirit with a diverse lineup of activities and a complimentary dinner. Please RSVP via the link below or email us.
