Discover the life, legacy, and Croatian roots of Henry Suzzallo (1875–1933), president of the University of Washington from 1915 to 1926 and a central figure in the university’s growth and development. This special exhibit, created by Branka Bezić Filipović and presented by the Tacoma–Split, Croatia Sister City Committee, explores the man behind the name of one of UW’s most iconic landmarks.
Join us for the Opening Reception on Tuesday, October 13, from 12:00–1:30 PM at the Suzzallo & Allen Libraries. The exhibit will remain on view October 13–November 15 and is free and open to the public.

BITTERSWEET: Youth Voices on Chocolate and Justice
Bittersweet is a dynamic youth video project featuring four short documentaries about world chocolate production in Tacoma's sister cities. Four short videos produced by youth filmmakers explore the creativity and culture behind chocolate and the challenges tied to labor, environmental impact and ethical sourcing. They examine the beauty and the challenges behind one of the world's most beloved foods. Produced by Zeta Maya Entertainment these shorts document the 2026 Chocolate Film Festival.
