My life is amazing for me today, I love my recovery!! Being set free from a daily drug addiction that controls your every thought! I thank God, that I have people in my life who care if I am clean! I thank God for W.F.R.F. housing and the owner Lesta Rogers for being in my life. If I didn't have a safe place to live, I would NOT BE CLEAN TODAY! I look back at my addiction failures, which are my blessings for me, it's makes me who I am, stronger person who loves herself and wants her recovery, MORE THAN ANYTHING!! How can I have anything else in my life, if I don't have my RECOVERY-FREE FROM ACTIVE ADDICTION!!I wish you all the best on your journeys!--DB

Hoping this year will be a great one for everyone. It's been busy for us, but we are doing good. So many changes in so many of our lives, but our lives are good today in our recovery. I, myself love college & looking forward to being a Chemical Dependency Counselor someday soon. It's never too late to achieve your dreams!!!

Addiction is a monster, not caring who, what, or where, as long as it destroys! Thank God I have my recovery today, by the grace of God! Thank God I am stronger today, to be able to help another recovering addict! I have 235 days clean from any M**H or ALCOHOL, anything mood alternating substances. The world of addiction is a world of taking and being taken; the world of recovery is a world of giving and being given. In which world do we choose to live?--Keep Smiling-DB

Hi, its Sheila. Just wanted to say, even being an addict, it is against my core values to comprehend that addiction goes beyond choice. To my mindset, it is a mental weakness and, therefore, a moral failure. So you can imagine the kind of beating I'd give myself for choosing my addiction above all else..?
After suffering the throws of an 8 year daily m**h addiction and, believe me, I went from a nearly perfect credit rating, qualified to buy a $120k house as a single mom of 2- zero child support, worked and devoted the rest of my time to my kids- to owing over $200k in court fees & medical bills, 58 hits on my name in the court circuits, homeless & without my kids, literally lost all our belongings, very suicidal (full of self-loathing), a felon and completely & utterly hopeless! I just couldn't understand why I kept sabotaging myself. I didn't believe I had a brain disease. I still struggle with the concept. That is a dangerous reservation. A reservation in ones program is a secret door to ones addiction. And that is why I must surrender to, and accept, what is the truth.
MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!!

Went to Celebrate Recovery, it was great!! Think I will go every Tuesday. Help strengthen my recovery!!! It makes all the difference being around people who are going thru the same thing & with the same goals!!! If I don't surround myself with positive people in recovery, I will go back!! So it is up to me, to do the right things.--DB

My name is Sheila Curry. I am an addict.
I was a daily m**h user for 8 years. Currently I celebrate 137 free of m**hamphetamines. My life is a miracle today and I owe a large part of that to the White Feather Reentry foundation!
After I graduated from a 30 day inpatient facility, courtesy of taxpayers- Thank You=) - I was released back into society to fend for myself. Or so was the plan before God brought Debbie Brown and Lesta Rogers into my life!
Tho I stayed at White Feather briefly, they offered me a safe, sober, supportive, recovery environment, with the freedom to develop a strong foundation, and transition back into society, at my own pace. The picture above is the home that I couldn't otherwise be enjoying today, without the love and support this unique, loving, program has offered me. Yes- I said "Offer!" They let me in without a penny to my name. They said, "Don't worry about the money, just DO your recovery!" And they meant it. I learned trust again. My faith grew...
