Sending our deepest condolences to the loved ones of chapter member, Donna Buck, who passed away on October 4th. Truly a phenomenal woman who was a constant advocate for veterans and their families. She will be deeply missed.

It is with sorrow in our hearts, that we inform you of the passing of Donna Buck Loved by Many-Respected by all our mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend and ally... Fourteen (14) days ago, Donna found out she had terminal cancer. She did not show any signs of discomfort or pain. That's Donna...she...

Unless your ID card is about to expire, there’s no need to rush to get the new card, especially during this era of pandemic when officials don’t want ID card offices flooded with people.

The technology also sets the stage for the future when cardholders will be able to go online and get their ID card through the proper vetting process, without going to an ID office.

"Language that would end the Survivor Benefit Plan-Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (SBP-DIC) offset, a rule that costs about 65,000 military survivors up to $12,000 a year in benefits, will be part of the NDAA, which reportedly will be sent to both houses of Congress for a vote this week. According to language in the NDAA, full repeal would be phased in over three years."

The elimination of the "widows tax" is now closer than ever, thanks to language included in the NDAA.

At Memorial Day ceremonies across the county, they stand with the nation to honor their own service member, while struggling with the personal grief of losing a spouse, adult child, parent, sibling or grandchild."

Memorial Day’s intended purpose is too often overshadowed by activities that celebrate the first long weekend of summer, says the author.
