MDC Child Care Food Program

MDC Child Care Food Program Meals are reimbursed for children in licensed childcare homes. The program reimburses for meals and snacks served to each daycare child.

The MDC Child Care Food Program is a federally funded program established to ensure proper nutrition for all children 0-13 years old in licensed in-home daycares. We serve providers in Pierce, South King, Kitsap, Grays Harbor, Pacific, Mason, and Thurston counties in Washington State. Serving the following counties in Oregon: Multnomah, Clackamas, Columbia, and Washington counties. The food progra

m plays a vital role in improving the quality of child care nutrition and making it more affordable for families and providers. We have been serving providers for over 35 years! MDC Food Program Benefits, free to all those who participate:

-Cash reimbursement for nutritious meals and snacks served in licensed in-home child cares, regardless of family income
-Reimbursement for meals to provider’s own children also available, based on income eligibility

UPDATE: The memorandum has been rescinded.

President Trump's recent memorandum has raised concerns about federal funding, including its impact on child nutrition programs. While there are still many unanswered questions, we are actively monitoring the situation and believe child nutrition programs will continue to be funded. At the National CACFP Association, our commitment remains the same - to advocate for and support those who rely on child nutrition programs. We will continue to share updates as we learn more. President Biden signed into law the Keep Kids Fed Bill yesterday. This Bill makes it possible to continue paying Tier 1 rates to all daycare home providers for another year and increases the rate of reimbursement an additional 10 cents per meal for all. This is wonderful news for all of our daycare providers and the CACFP community!!!
