A blast from the past with the same 50th anniversary as TWSA-Tacoma Women's Sailing Association. The Sloop Tavern is the “de facto headquarters of the Sloop Tavern Yacht Club, Ballard’s blue collar yacht club.” Sloop Tavern Yacht Club

Opened in 1953, the unpretentious Sloop Tavern has had its own working-class yacht club since 1976 and is one of Seattle's most genuinely nautical bars.

April 23 | Spring Member Meeting

What a wonderful evening gathering with TWSA members for our Spring Quarterly Member Meeting.

It was especially fun to catch up with new sailors as TWSA sailing classes began this week, reconnect with longtime members, share a meal, and welcome the spring sailing season together.

A big thank you to Sailors for the Sea, Powered by Oceana, for an eye-opening presentation on environmentally mindful boating practices. The program gave us a thoughtful look at the ways our time on the water impacts the marine environment — and simple, practical ways we can all think a little greener when we sail.

From conversation and connection to our “bring something green” potluck theme, the evening was a wonderful reminder that community, learning, and stewardship all belong on and off the water.
