🆘 one of our most dedicated organizers is in a bad spot and needs your help!

after experiencing an immigration-related dv incident, our friend had a chronic illness flare and subsequently lost their job.

their 30 day pay or vacate is up on **JUNE 19th** and we are trying to get them paid up by then so they can have the rest of the month to prepare to move. they have a temporary situation lined up for next month, but an eviction before then will make finding safe, long-term housing extremely difficult.

support someone who does so much to support our community!

Pierce Transit to Offer Free Rides to Cooling Centers on June 2

The Puget Sound area will experience high temperatures on Tuesday, June 2. To help those who need access to transportation to get out of the heat and shelter during hot weather, Pierce Transit is partnering with Pierce County Human Services to provide free bus, Runner and SHUTTLE paratransit (for registered SHUTTLE customers) rides to local cooling centers and shelters.

The free rides to cooling centers and shelters will be in effect on Pierce Transit’s service on Tuesday, June 2 from start of service through close of service. The free round trips are available throughout the day and evening on June 2 for passengers who tell the driver they are traveling to or from a cooling center or shelter. Shelters are open in many Pierce County locations including Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup, Parkland and Gig Harbor.
