At last week's Union Meeting we passed the hat for Brother Jacob Walters. If you were unable to attend the meeting or would love to help out our Union Brother we know it would be hugely appreciated. Check out his GoFundMe link below about his unexpected stroke, at 32 years old while traveled out to UA Local 533! His Brother, fellow Brother Jerry Walters created the site for Jake & his wife.

The labor movement lost a champion with the passing of WSA Organizer Derek Drake. Derek had a profound effect on the lives of working class people as well as many UA members.

Those who knew Derek will always remember him for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to his principles. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In this difficult time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Derek’s family, friends, and colleagues. To support his family during this tough transition, a GoFundMe page has been created. For the second year in a row we will be hosting a TOY DRIVE, benefitting Toys for Tots! We are collecting toys from now until the December 14th Union Meeting. We are accepting new and unwrapped toys and monetary donations as well! Each donation will earn you raffle tickets. Raffle will take place at the December 14th Union Meeting Party!

National Apprentice Week! 🎉

When we asked our Pipe Fab Shop Superintendent, to pick out an apprentice or two for a National Apprentice Week focus piece, he told us he couldn’t. “All my apprentices are so good, I just can’t choose one of them.” Pretty high praise!

Meet (left to right) Nick McKee, Nichole Page, Zach Smith, Coleby Cherrington, Cody Robel, and Jacob Earl. These 6 are all Local 26 apprentices that are currently killing it in Pipe Fab!

When taking the picture of the group, fab shop General Foreman (and legend) Lou Mendez chimed in with “There’s some future leaders in there for sure!” We are proud of our apprentices and all the potential they represent. Thank you all for being a part of ! ☘️
