A fundraiser this size takes more hands than our staff has on its own, and most of what needs doing requires no special experience.

We can usually use help spreading the word ahead of time, getting materials organized and the space ready, and packing things up once the event wraps. Tell us what you're good at, and we'll find a spot for you.

Volunteering with AHAT Homecare doesn't stop at the event, either. We regularly need help answering phones, preparing meals in our award-winning kitchen, and spending time with our residents.

Local businesses have always been part of how AHAT Homecare keeps this work going. City, state, and federal grants cover a portion, and community support covers much of the rest.

Three Cedars is our 24/7 care facility, and it's currently home to six residents. Donations there go toward the daily things that keep a household running:
▪️$10 can cover breakfast
▪️$25 can cover lunch
▪️$50 can cover dinner
▪️$100 can support a social outing

Our kitchen volunteers do a lot of the cooking, and your gift helps stock the pantry. These amounts show what donations make possible, not a restriction on where any one dollar lands.

When you buy a ticket to the Speakeasy, you're helping fund the everyday work that keeps our residents housed and connected to care.

AHAT Homecare has supported people living with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C in Pierce and Kitsap counties since 1989 through three programs:
▪️ Three Cedars, a 24/7 care facility where residents receive medical assistance, medication management, and help with activities of daily living
▪️ Project Open Door, which moves chronically homeless individuals into safe, affordable housing in Tacoma and Fircrest with case management, life-skills training, and mental health services
▪️ Healthy Living, which extends our support to residents and the wider community

Two-thirds of our residents return to their communities after graduating from these programs.

Tacoma, we’ve got an evening planned for you! ✨

Speakeasy at the Rust Mansion is a cocktail hour fundraiser benefiting AHAT Homecare on Thursday, November 5. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the event from 6–8 p.m.

Dress up, bring a friend, partner, or coworker, and join us for a meaningful night in support of affordable housing and healthcare services in our community.

Tickets to Speakeasy at the Rust Mansion are almost here, and capacity is limited.

Every ticket includes curated cocktails, b**r, w**e, or non-alcoholic beverages plus hors d'oeuvres. Once you're inside, you can bid in our silent auction or pick up raffle tickets for a 7-day Holland America Line cruise to Alaska, the Caribbean, Mexico, or Canada and New England.
They also make a thoughtful gift, whether that's for a friend who likes a good cause, a team you want to thank, or a date night that supports Tacoma.

As AHAT prepares for our Speakeasy event this November and World AIDS Day on December 1, we're beginning to connect with community members who may be interested in volunteering.

On National Nonprofit Day, we want to say one simple thing: Thank you.

Because of the generosity of our donors, volunteers, community partners, sponsors, and supporters, AHAT Homecare is able to provide housing, healthcare access, and supportive services for people living with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C throughout Tacoma and Pierce County.

Every volunteer hour, every donation, and every act of support helps create stability, opportunity, and hope for the people we serve.

We are grateful to be part of a community that believes everyone deserves access to care, dignity, and a safe place to call home.

Two events. One mission.

As we look ahead to the end of the year, we invite our community to save the dates for two important AHAT events:

♥️Speakeasy at the Rust Mansion – November 2025
♥️World AIDS Day – December 1, 2025

The Speakeasy brings supporters together to raise funds that help sustain AHAT's housing and support programs.

World AIDS Day creates space for remembrance, awareness, education, and solidarity with individuals and families impacted by HIV.

Both events help strengthen our community and support the work that continues every day throughout Tacoma and Pierce County.

More information and volunteer opportunities will be shared soon. In the meantime, help us spread the word and save the dates.
