The Rotary Club of Tacoma #8 is honored to welcome Adrianne Haslet, a 2013 Boston Marathon bombing survivor, to our meeting on Thursday, October 22nd.

Adrianne sustained life-changing injuries in the bombing that resulted in the amputation of her left leg below the knee. Rather than allowing this tragedy to define her, Adrianne chose to move forward with courage, determination, and an unwavering spirit.

She took up running with a prosthetic blade—and just three years later, she returned to the Boston Marathon and crossed the finish line.

School has begun! Three students have started their Rotary Youth Exchange year. Archer (Hungary), Andreas (Belgium), and Justin (Taiwan) are spending the year with host families, attending local schools, learning new languages, and representing our community abroad.
