✨New Member Monday✨
Meet one of our newest sopranos! Welcome Hailey Wharton, joining the Soprano 2 section!
🎶
Hailey went through the choral program at PLU and has been regularly participating in opera and musical theatre in the South Sound area. A fun fact about Hailey is she loves fall because the temperatures and the colors are perfectly cozy. She auditioned for NWRS “To feed part of my soul by making music. There is something healing about singing. I can pour my heart into a piece and come out of it feeling levity unlike any other activity”
🎶We are so happy to have Hailey!

Meet one of our newest Alto Lovelies! Welcome Karyn Castro, joining the Alto 1 section!
🎶
Karyn started singing at 5 with the Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus! She also majored in voice and has sung with a range of professional and volunteer choruses since! She joined NWRS because, “It’s a great choir! I’m relatively new to Washington, and after I attended the 25th Anniversary concert, I said “I want to be part of that choir’”!
🎶We are so happy to have Karyn!

Our little choir family🫶🏻

Our 26th season has kicked off! We have spent our first two rehearsal getting some work done! During our first rehearsal, we focused on sight reading through our music as well as seating placements within our sections. Did you know that moving as little as two members of the choir to a different spot can completely change the sound of the group?
Last night, we spent some time digging into a few of our piece. We are pleased to share some pretty difficult music this December that will be accompanied by a wonderful group of musicians! The countdown to the concert begins!

Our 26th Season has begun! We had our fall retreat yesterday with new friends, yummy food, and lots of singing! The work begins to prepare for our winter concert. We are pleased to present a beautiful program this December at Kilworth Memorial Chapel on the University of Puget Sound! Stay tuned for updates, information and sneak peeks throughout the season!

Did everyone have a good choir girl summer?

Still reminiscing on our 25th Anniversary Concert and Celebration, and it honestly feels a little unreal

This wasn’t just a concert. It was a room full of memories. So many familiar faces, so many voices blending again, and so many moments that reminded us why we started singing together in the first place.

To everyone who’s ever been part of this choir, on stage or in the audience, past or present, thank you. You’ve helped build something that’s so much more than music. It’s friendship, it’s laughter, it’s showing up week after week even when life is busy, and it’s finding something special in singing together.

And to those who came to celebrate with us: we felt every bit of your love and support.

Here’s to 25 years of songs we’ll never forget and to all the music still ahead 🎶
