Pacific Harbors Council is looking for youth and adult volunteers who want to make a difference.

Whether you enjoy camping, teaching, photography, event planning, marketing, serving on a committee, or helping behind the scenes, there's a place for you. Even if you only have a few hours to give each year, your time and talents can make a lasting impact.

We've created a Volunteer Interest Survey to learn more about what interests you and how you'd like to get involved.

Completing the survey does not commit you to volunteering. It simply lets us know what opportunities you'd like to hear about when they become available.

Join us August 28-30 at Camp Thunderbird for one of two outstanding hands-on training opportunities:
🌲 Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)
Perfect for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, and Scouts BSA leaders looking to complete their outdoor training and build confidence teaching Scout skills.
⛺ Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)
Essential training for Cub Scout leaders and parents who want to help plan and lead pack camping adventures.

Whether you are new to Scouting or looking to complete your training, this weekend is a great opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with fellow volunteers.

On Tuesday, August 4, communities across the nation will come together to celebrate National Night Out—a night dedicated to building stronger neighborhoods, supporting local first responders, and strengthening community connections.

Last night, the Pacific Harbors Council (PHC) sent 42 Scouts and Scouters off to begin their adventure to the 2026 National Jamboree!

Their first stop was Philadelphia, where they met up with 16 fellow Scouts and Scouters from the Far East Council (China) to explore the birthplace of our nation and experience its rich history together.

Please keep these Scouts and their leaders in your thoughts and prayers as they continue their journey through our nation’s capital and embark on an unforgettable two-week experience, building friendships, creating lifelong memories, and “ELEVATING” their Scouting adventure at the 2026 National Jamboree.

We are proud to announce that Camp Thunderbird has been accredited through the National Camp Accreditation Program (NCAP) for the 2026 season!

A sincere thank you to the NCAP assessment team for spending time touring our camp and reviewing our program. Your guidance and dedication help ensure that we continue to provide not only an unforgettable Cub Scout Summer Camp experience, but one that is safe, well-managed, and meets the highest standards of Scouting.

Most importantly, thank you to our incredible camp staff and volunteers. Countless hours of preparation, planning, training, and teamwork went into making this accreditation possible. Your commitment to providing a quality program for every Scout and family is what makes Camp Thunderbird such a special place.

We can’t wait to welcome Scouts to another summer filled with adventure, learning, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.
