Did you know that there is a brand new podcast created by an AAUW Seattle Branch member? Dr. Karen Levy, the podcast creator, is a Professor in the University of Washington (UW) Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences (DEOHS), where she studies the ecology and epidemiology of environmentally-mediated infectious diseases. "Scientess" is a podcast for women about the joy of science, and why women might want to consider a career in science. The host talks to women with successful careers in science about how they did it, why they did it, and what they love about the work that they do.

The first one is about Rita Colwell who is a pioneering environmental microbiologist recognized for her study of how global infectious diseases spread through water sources.

Join the Tech Trek team! Tech Trek Washington State is looking for a Camp Director. An ideal Camp Director is someone who is compassionate, organized, and enjoys working with youth.

Applications are due on November 22nd. The new Camp Director will train with the current Director from December 1st, 2025, until the end of July, 2026. In August, the new Camp Director will takeover all camp operations.
