At our monthly Friends Club, we do activities, have snacks, and, of course, hang with Friends! Recently, we made book bags and walked to the to fill our bags with our exciting new reads.

Welcome Sarah Jane Hoppe, our new Strategic Operations & Executive Support Manager. SJ brings a remarkable range of experience to her new role: years of customer service expertise from Victrola Coffee, operational acumen gained through running fundraising campaigns for local museums, and project management skills honed while helping nonprofit boards thrive.

SJ is deeply involved in Tacoma’s arts community. She serves as an Arts Commissioner for City of Tacoma is a proud former Vice President of the Board of The Grand Cinema, and operates the Tiny Art Gallery on Cedar in her front yard.

Having fun isn’t hard with a library card! 📚

Our very own Ms. Jamie recently got her Tacoma Public Library card, and the youth were excited to cheer her on. Together, we’re reading all summer long to help prevent summer learning loss and build a lifelong love of books.

At the heart of our healing-centered approach is the belief that children learn best from trusted adults. By fostering strong relationships, we create safe and supportive spaces where youth feel comfortable trying new things, making mistakes, and being vulnerable as they develop new skills and discover their potential.

Is Ms. Sherell the best Friend ever? Her girls think so! Sherell invited all her girls to celebrate [Charlotte] before her big move. All of Sherell’s kiddos have been with her for the past 5 years, and they have built friendships with one another just as they have with her. Charlotte's send-off was filled with skating, laughter, and pizza! It’s hard to say see you later, but it’s easier when you can have so much fun doing it together

All aboard! Two of our coolest middle schoolers got to hop on the ferry for a day trip to Vashon. After a missed left turn at Albuquerque (aka the lighthouse), we ended up in downtown! Pizza and ice cream fueled our walk, giving us the energy to play games on the long trip back.
