Help Us Tell the Story

Lifting Spirits has grown in a way we’re incredibly proud of — mostly through word of mouth. One person tells another, someone shares a post, a family reaches out, and somehow our little operation keeps reaching more people who need a hand. ❤️

But we know there are a lot of people who may not know who we are or what we do yet.

If you’ve worked with us, received equipment or supplies from us, donated to us, or connected with us in some other way, we’d love to hear about your experience.

Would you take a minute to leave us a rating or a short testimonial?

It doesn’t have to be fancy. Tell us what your experience was actually like, what we were able to help with, or what Lifting Spirits has meant to you or your family.

Your words help people who are unfamiliar with us understand what happens here — and help us reach the next person who needs us.

Thank you for helping us spread the word, one person at a time. ❤️

📣 IMPORTANT APPOINTMENT REMINDER

Lifting Spirits with Helping Hands operates BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We do not have a storefront, and we do not have staff or volunteers sitting at our storage unit throughout the day.

When you schedule an appointment, a volunteer makes a special trip to the storage unit specifically to meet you, using their own time and gas.

⏰ We have a 15-minute grace period.

If you are more than 15 minutes late and we have received NO communication from you, you will be considered a NO-SHOW and our volunteer WILL leave.

Arriving after that 15-minute grace period does not change the appointment to “late” if you haven't communicated with us. It is still considered a no-show, and our no-show policy will apply.

We simply cannot ask our volunteers to sit at a storage unit waiting indefinitely for someone who may or may not show up.

We absolutely understand that things happen—traffic, illness, emergencies, kids, work, etc. But you MUST communicate with us. A quick message letting us know you're running late or can't make it makes all the difference.

Please respect the time and resources of the volunteers who make this service possible. 💙

15 minutes + no communication = no-show.

Thank you for understanding and helping us continue serving our community. 🫶

💜 Hospital Bed Available

We have a hospital bed that is available and we’d love to help connect it with someone who needs one.

If you or someone you know is currently in need of a hospital bed, send us a message and we will connect you 💜

Came across this today. It’s a great resource to have if you qualify.

💜 A Friendly Policy Update 💜

As our nonprofit continues to grow, we're implementing a new inventory hold policy to help us serve as many people as possible.
If you inquire about an available item, please schedule your pickup within 48–72 hours. We understand that transportation often needs to be arranged with caregivers, family, shuttles, or care facilities, so we want to allow time for those arrangements.

Once scheduled, pickup should take place within 7 business days.

Because many of our items are in high demand, we can no longer hold equipment for extended periods. If we don't hear from you within 48–72 hours, the item may be offered to the next person waiting.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us get much-needed equipment into the hands of those who need it most. ❤️

☀️ Friends,

With the extreme heat 🥵 and the possibility of poor air quality for the rest of the week, we’re going to be limiting appointments over the next few days.

As many of you know, much of what we do is hands-on and takes place outdoors at our storage facility. Between lifting equipment, loading vehicles, and working outside for extended periods, these conditions can quickly become unsafe.

💙 The safety of our volunteers, recipients, and everyone who visits us will always come first.

We know this may be an inconvenience, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. We care deeply about serving our community, but we also want to make sure everyone stays safe.

Thank you for your support and for understanding that sometimes taking care of each other means slowing down for a few days. ❤️

Stay cool, stay safe, and we’ll be back to full speed as soon as the weather cooperates! ☀️🩵

🚨 Inventory Spotlight! 🚨

Every so often we find ourselves with an overabundance of certain items while our storage is needed for equipment that’s in constant demand. We’d love to get these items into the hands of people who can use them!

Right now we have:
• Adult tab-style briefs, various sizes
• Traditional aluminum walkers

Need one? Know someone who does? We can help!

If you’re with an assisted living facility, adult family home, hospice, home health agency, church, shelter, or another nonprofit, we’d also be happy to provide larger quantities if they’ll serve your clients.

As always, these items are available free of charge through our nonprofit.

Please message us if you’re interested, and we’d appreciate it if you’d share this post to help us reach those who may benefit. Every item we place helps us keep space available for the medical equipment our community depends on most.
