At this week's POP Lunch, we were so grateful to be joined by speaker Arthur G. Affleck, III, M.Ed., JD, President and CEO of the Association of Children’s Museums, for his inspiring keynote speech about the value that children's museums bring to children and families through guided play, where educators design experiences with learning in mind while letting children lead their own discovery.

"Rather than simply telling a child what to learn, we create an environment, ask a question, offer a challenge, provide a hint, or introduce a new possibility, and then let the child explore," he said as he described children's museums. This is the same spirit that shapes every exhibit and program at Greentrike.

We're bubbling over with gratitude toward everyone who attended, donated, and sponsored the POP Lunch! 🫧💚

This week, more than 300 friends and colleagues joined us to explore our Play to Learn vignettes, connect over lunch, and invest in playful programs for the children and families that we serve. We were blown away by such an incredible crowd and inspired by the dedication that we saw to children and families in our community!

For those that have not given yet or would like to give again, there's still time! To champion the power of play with a gift to Greentrike today, visit the link in our bio 🔗

HUGE thanks to the sponsors of this year's Power of Play Lunch: Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, Charles Wright Academy, Columbia Bank, KeyBank, HUB International, Moss Adams and Baker Tilly, and so many more!

The support from these sponsors helps to make community programs like Play to Learn and Pay As You Will Admission for the Museums possible, ensuring that more children in our community are able to learn and develop through play. These diapers and baby wipes will be offered to families who visit the Monarch Diaper Banks at the Children's Museum of Tacoma, the Children's Museum at JBLM, and On the Go at Play to Learn Pierce County in order to reduce diaper need and improve the lives and health of children and families in our community 🍼
