We had a great time celebrating the new Sheridan Avenue redesign this past Saturday! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the ribbon cutting, the celebration in Wapato park, or both. We can't wait for the next phase of this project, and more great projects to come in the South End!

Join us Saturday, September 26th, for an open streets festival filled with a day of movement, music, and community fun! Walk, bike or roll between Birney Elementary School, Ryan’s Park, and Charlotte’s Blueberry Park.

Go at your own pace or join a group bike ride. Stop at the parks for fun, games, & live music!

What a night! We had a blast celebrating the opening of the First Creek Trailhead with Parks Tacoma and 2nd Cycle. Parks Tacoma brought the fun with activities, refreshments, and plenty of reasons to stick around and celebrate.

Tacoma On the Go was thrilled to help get 40 helmets on the heads of community members, followed by a family-friendly Kidical Mass ride led by 2nd Cycle on the Pipeline Trail.

Love a good ribbon cutting? We’re doing it again tomorrow! Join Tacoma On the Go and Tacoma Mobility on Saturday, August 22, as we celebrate the Sheridan Avenue Improvements. Bring the family and join our bike ride from Fern Hill Elementary to the ribbon cutting, then stick around to celebrate the new pedestrian, bike, and transit-friendly improvements with activities and refreshments in Wapato Park. What a wonderful way to close out Walk Tacoma 2026! We had a fantastic turnout for Wednesday’s McKinley Hill Walk, with longtime Walk Tacoma participants, McKinley Hill neighbors,, and plenty of four-legged friends joining us for a beautiful summer evening.

What made this walk especially memorable was hearing directly from people with deep connections to McKinley Hill. With that, a huge thank you goes out to our walk leads Marty Campbell, Danny Patnode, Justin Everman, and Jim Dawson, our amazing volunteers, and Lechon Loco for the delicious refreshments at our Walk Social! And thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Walk Tacoma Series.
