This is devastating

Another gray whale washed up this past weekend in Ocean Park. Cascadia Research Collective wrote its a Male and no necropsy will be conducted. On May 24th another male up at Olympic National Park. The whale showed signs of malnutrition and trauma.

Two more gray whales have been found dead along Washington’s coastlines, bringing the total up to 25 that have washed ashore in our state alone this year.

This is neither the first nor the last questionable location a so called rescue , all in the name of financial gain and saving without due diligence. This is indeed heartbreaking.

Pet Microchip Awareness — and it’s a great reminder that a tiny chip can make a huge difference if your pet ever gets lost. 🐾

A microchip isn’t GPS and doesn’t track your pet’s location. It’s a small chip, about the size of a grain of rice, that stores a unique ID number vets and shelters can scan to contact you if your pet is found.

Collars and tags can fall off, but a microchip stays with your pet for life. The most important step? Make sure your chip is registered and your contact information stays up to date.
