1ST WEEK OF SOUND TO NARROWS PRACTICE RUNS IS IN THE BOOKS!

We loved cheering on our students and volunteer route guides as they walked, jogged, ran, and skipped their way around the lake while building stamina for race day.

💜💛 A huge THANK YOU to our friends at Black Bear Frozen Yogurt for partnering with the Mann PTA to help us celebrate and appreciate our incredible staff during Staff Appreciation Week! 🍦✨

Our staff loved the delicious frozen yogurt treats, and we are so grateful for community partners who help us make our educators and support staff feel special. Your generosity and kindness made the day extra sweet! 🐻🍨

A very belated thank you to everyone who helped make our Earth Day Community Clean-Up on April 22 such a success!

We had a great turnout of students, staff families, and volunteers helping clean up our school and surrounding neighborhood. It was wonderful seeing so many people come together to help care for our community.

Special shoutout to the TWO student trash collectors who found Monkeyshines during the event — what an exciting Tacoma moment!

Our Adopt-a-Plant tables were also a huge success. We loved seeing the delight on the faces of all ages. Plus big congratulations to all of our raffle prize winners!

Thank you as well to Trust for Public Land and Metro Parks Tacoma for coming out to celebrate with us. They were a major part of helping make our new playground possible, and we’re grateful for their continued support of our school community!

And finally, thank you to every family and volunteer who showed up and doned gloves, grabbers, trash bags, and good attitudes. We, and the Earth, appreciate you!

When PTA first saw the beautiful bouquet a staff member’s son made for her, we were immediately impressed! Once we learned he had handcrafted the flowers himself out of pipe cleaners, we knew we had to invite him to teach our Mann families how to make them too!

Every flower lovingly crafted that day greeted our staff Monday morning for Staff Appreciation Week, where staff members were invited to choose one to keep.

A huge thank you to Ja’Kani for sharing his talent with us, and to all the Mann families who came out to learn, create, and help make something special for our amazing staff!

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible Mann staff who pour so much love, energy, patience, and heart into our students every single day. ❤️

Here’s what the PTA has planned this week:

Monday – Flowers & Lanyards

Tuesday – Stock the Fridge

Wednesday – Black Bear FroYo
(11 AM–1 PM)

Thursday – Local Business Prizes Raffle

Friday – Italian Sodas & Espresso (11 AM–1 PM)
