Sometimes all it takes is exposure to something new to open a young person’s mind to what’s possible.

Our Youth Barista Training gave young people the opportunity to step into a real world environment, learn directly from professionals, and build skills in customer service, communication, teamwork, and the art of making a good cup of coffee.

More importantly, they got to experience something new and discover another potential pathway for their future.

Huge thank you to The Coffee Spot and Dillanos Coffee Roasters for opening your doors, sharing your knowledge, and investing your time into the youth. Partnerships like these allow us to create experiences that go beyond the classroom and give young people skills they can actually carry with them.

Innovative Restoration Project #1 in the books!

Our youth showed up and put in WORK at Bob’s BBQ Pit! They learned new skills, worked alongside local professionals, and got to see what it looks like to give back to their own community.

Our youth came to us with a vision: bring the community together, make their voices heard, and show that they are tired of the violence. Innovative Change Makers and Game Time answered the call.

Join us for this youth-led event on Saturday, September 12 at 3 PM at People’s Community Center. We’ll also take a short walk through the neighborhood to visit local businesses standing in solidarity with our youth.

Come out, stand with them, and remind them that they are not alone!

Sometimes the best way to understand the impact is to hear it directly from the youth.

Getting outside of their everyday routine, experiencing nature, and simply having space to BE matters.

And just like that, our ICM Summer Camping Trip comes to an end.

Hiking, laughs, challenges, new experiences, and memories these young people will carry long after we leave the campsite.

For some, this was their first time camping. For others, their first real hike, sleeping outdoors, or simply getting away from the city and experiencing nature in a different way.

They pushed themselves. They supported each other. They laughed A LOT. And most importantly, they got to just be young.

Innovative Change Makers Camping Trip 2026 is officially in the books.

Change starts with YOUth.

Rattlesnake Ledge challenged us!

There were tired legs, moments of doubt, and plenty of “how much further?” 😂 But everybody kept pushing, encouraged each other, and we made it to the peak!

The lesson was bigger than the hike: sometimes the only way to see what’s waiting for you at the top is to keep going when it gets difficult.

There’s something special about getting our youth outside of their everyday environment and giving them space to explore, challenge themselves, and experience the outdoors together.
