Veterans and families are invited to a day of appreciation, connection, and community in North Tonawanda! 🇺🇸🦅🙏

The 18th Annual Veterans Appreciation Picnic will take place Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. hosted by our friends at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1411, 7269 Ward Road, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.

All Veterans and their families are welcome. The special event will include music, food, a flag ceremony at 1 p.m., raffles, door prizes, and a theme tray raffle, with drawings at 4:30 p.m.

DVS is proud to share this community event honoring our Veterans and their families. Please help spread the word and share this with a Veteran or family member who may want to attend. 🇺🇸🙏

The New York State Department of Veterans' Services, in partnership with the New York State Department of Labor, will be at 117 Duane Street, NY, NY 10007 on July 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, distributing FreshConnect Checks to eligible Veterans, service members, and family members.

Each eligible recipient may receive a booklet of FreshConnect checks worth $50 to use for fresh produce and other food items at participating farmers’ markets and farm stands across NYS.

This outreach event is being facilitated by Mery Lezama, DVS Veterans Benefits Advisor. Please bring a photo ID to enter the Department of Labor. Veterans seeking claims assistance should also bring their VA decision letter and DD214.
