Congratulations to the newest graduates of the inaugural Advance 2 Apprenticeship® pre-apprenticeship program at Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3)! 🎉

A special congratulations to graduate speaker Joseph Newlon, a veteran who found new possibilities through the Advance 2 Apprenticeship program. Joe gained exposure to opportunities beyond assembly work and developed a better understanding of the many career pathways available throughout the manufacturing industry. He also encourages others to explore manufacturing with an open mind, noting that the program helped him see how existing skills and experiences can translate into a variety of careers.

Additional remarks were provided by Mike Frame, Executive Director of the Manufacturers Talent Institute - MTI and Executive Vice President of MACNY, The Manufacturers Association; Tim McCabe, Dean of Business, Science & Technology at TC3; Kevin Cornacchio, President of Precision Filters Inc.; and Punit Shetty, Principal Consultant at the Alliance for Manufacturing and Technology (AMT), who each shared words of encouragement and insight about the opportunities available in today's manufacturing industry.

Our cohort at Tompkins Cortland Community College toured C&D Assembly in Groton, a local electronics manufacturing company.

Getting out into the community and learning directly from local employers helps participants gain a deeper understanding of the career opportunities available throughout the region.

Congratulations to the ten graduates of Indium Corporation's first Advance 2 Apprenticeship® incumbent pre-apprenticeship cohort. Participants completed training that supports career advancement into Registered Apprenticeship in trades such as Quality Assurance Auditor, Continuous Improvement Associate, and Industrial Manufacturing Technician or other technical roles.
