Syracuse Peacemaking Project

Syracuse Peacemaking Project Peacemaking is a traditional Native American approach to justice that focuses on healing and restoration. Peacemaking is free and confidential.

The Syracuse Peacemaking Project works to address quality of life crimes and social disorder in the city of Syracuse through restorative justice, community justice, and people power. Peacemaking brings together people who are in conflict, along with family members and other members of the community who have been affected. Peacemakers, who are trained community volunteers, lead participants in peac

emaking circles. All participants are treated equally and are allowed to speak. The purpose is not to assign guilt or innocence, but rather to heal. Peacemaking seeks to resolve disputes through an inclusive, non-adversarial process that empowers all affected parties. The NWSPP takes referrals from the police, courts, schools, and community to address quality of life crimes and social disorder, including disputes between neighbors, landlords & tenants, and families.
