United Way of CNY was proud to partner with Equitable on this wonderful project for The Syracuse City School District!

for the generosity of our community!

Support from Equitable and the United Way of Central New York enabled PSLA at Fowler High School to recently open a food pantry to students in the building – making them one of the first schools in the County to offer this support. Donations covered the purchase of shelving, storage bins, and food. The school opened the pantry this month to select students and staff hope to expand it to serve the whole school next school year! Thank you to Social Worker Karen Cusano, Social Worker Patrick Otts, and Program Aide Roxann Ray for their efforts with this project.

Today, the United Way of Central New York team was honored to march in the Syracuse Juneteenth Parade! We loved seeing everyone come together to celebrate freedom, community, and culture right here in the heart of our city.

We were proud to be led by Grand Marshal City of Syracuse - Office of the Mayor Sharon Owens and Honorary Marshal Syracuse Parks & Recreation Commissioner Syeisha Byrd.

Thank you to the Syracuse Juneteenth Festival organizers and everyone who lined the streets with so much amazing energy!

And of course, huge appreciation to local artist Jaleel Campbell for the incredible Juneteenth design created for United Way of CNY! T-shirts are still available (link in bio).

Celebrate freedom. Celebrate community. ❤️🖤💚

Yesterday, members of the United Way of Central New York team attended the Juneteenth flag-raising ceremony at Syracuse City Hall. It was an incredible afternoon reflecting on freedom, resilience, and the work still ahead to build an equitable community for everyone.

We were proud to wear our stunning, custom Juneteenth t-shirts designed by the incredibly talented local artist Jaleel Campbell!

Happy Juneteenth, CNY! Let's continue to listen, learn, and unite for a brighter future. And we’ll see you at the Juneteenth Parade tomorrow! 🌟

On Tuesday, we were honored to receive the Community Partnership of the Year award from MACNY, The Manufacturers Association

This award recognizes community organizations within Central New York who have partnered with MACNY to strengthen their reach to students, families, and educators to build awareness of local careers in STEAM.
