Beautiful morning on the Rio Grand Rail Trail in Davis County Utah.

I'd recommend accessing the trail in Roy. You can ride all the way to Salt Lake should you feel the need. It's mainly flat, with some vegetation. There are a number of road crossings, all of which have gates with crossing lights. There's a bike path that branches off in Farmington and puts you out a bit further west following the Legacy Highway north. It's my preferred route as it has very few road crossings.
