Last night around 10:30 p.m., Lyncourt firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm.Engine 1, led by Lt. Evans, arrived first and investigated with assistance from Hinsdale TP6 and Lyncourt Truck 2, led by Lt. Cimino. Lyncourt Car 2 had command.

Crews found CO inside the home and requested National Grid. A faulty furnace was identified as the source.

As cooler weather arrives, have your heating system inspected and serviced by a qualified professional. Make sure CO alarms are working on every level of your home and outside sleeping areas.

Carbon monoxide has no smell or color. If your CO alarm sounds, get everyone outside and call 911 from a safe location. Do not go back inside until emergency responders say it is safe.

Today, we remember September 11, 2001 — a day that forever changed our nation.

We remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost and the countless families and communities forever impacted.

We especially honor the 343 members of the FDNY, along with the police officers, EMS personnel, military members, and countless other first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication serve as a lasting reminder of what it means to answer the call.

🚒 343 brothers and sisters. Never forgotten.

From all of us at Lyncourt Fire Department, we ask our community to take a moment today to remember those who were lost, honor those who served, and never forget the sacrifices made that day.
