Thanks to this great group of volunteers more kids in Utah got to wake up in their own bed on Mother’s Day. That is a gift for the children and mom! We are so grateful for all of the mothers in our lives and hope that you are celebrated the way you deserve to be!

"Growing up, we didn’t have a lot, but we had love. My single mother did everything she could to provide for us. Sometimes that meant asking for help — letting the tías and litas in our Section 8 housing complex watch us, or sharing food stamps with neighbors who needed them.

When I started volunteering with SHP, bedlessness wasn’t really a surprise to me, because I’d lived it and seen it firsthand. I come from a family that struggled to make ends meet, let alone get ahead. I remember one year, a tía gave my mother part of her tax refund so my sister could have a new mattress instead of sleeping on our couch. That kind of community support stuck with me, and it’s what inspires me to give back through Sleep in Heavenly Peace — so no kid in my town sleeps on the floor."

Something big is happening — and you can be part of it. 🛠🛏️✨

On April 15–16, our founding partner Lowe's Home Improvement will host a 24-Hour Bed Build at the Charlotte Convention Center where thousands of volunteers will work around the clock to build 10,000 beds for children who need them most. Once built, the beds will be delivered to kids in 110 communities across 36 states — including maybe yours.

Every bed includes a sturdy hand-built with love SHP frame, new mattress, pillow, and fresh bedding. And right now, you can help dress them.

Lowe's is hosting a bedding donation drive through April 24 — online and at select stores. Every dollar goes directly toward making sure a child has everything they need for a good night's rest.
