Last fall, announced the launch of its new Center for the Creator Economy , a first-of-its-kind academic endeavor in the U.S. The Center hosted a two-day event that featured an opening ceremony and the inaugural ’CUSE Creator Con.’ This event included a series of panel discussions on trending market topics, bringing together students and industry experts. The American Influencer Council (AIC) attended the event and applauds the faculty and students who made this groundbreaking initiative possible.

Today, The announced the launch of The Home Depot Creator portal, “a creator-first platform designed to connect digital content creators to The Home Depot, helping them monetize their home improvement content and spark new ideas for future partnerships.”

Applications are now open to all creators. According to the press release, “Once applications are accepted, members will receive creator-focused onboarding and access to immediate content and campaign opportunities. Creators can utilize training resources, best practices, branded hashtags, curated collections and product catalogs to maximize their visibility with The Home Depot. In addition to training, participants benefit from storefront capabilities, special perks, product gifting and more.”

Last month, unveiled its own affiliate platform dubbed My Sephora Storefront, “where creators can display their favorite products on the Sephora website, generate shareable, shoppable links for social media, and earn sales commissions,” writes Katie Hicks for .

‣ In less than a month there are now over 1k storefronts.
‣ Sephora is offering a 15% commission on Storefront sales, putting it in line with commissions on ShopMy and LTK, which, per the platforms’ websites, tend to range between 10%–30%.

“It’s the latest sign of growth for the creator commerce and affiliate space, which is set to be worth $16 billion by 2028 and is currently dominated by third-party affiliate platforms like LTK, ShopMy, and TikTok Shop, as well as retailers like Amazon with Amazon Storefront,” states Hicks.

New research from Digital entitled 2025 State of Social Research.

Key Findings
⏺️ In 2024, creators topped the list for social media marketing budget priorities, taking up 24% of the total yearly spend on average. Unfortunately, many brands are not implementing the most effective creator and influencer strategies, and therefore aren’t seeing the return on their notable investment. 
⏺️ Social-first brands prioritize micro and mid-tier creators 84% and 87%, respectively, while low-maturity brands prioritize them less (35% and 47%, respectively). This focus surpasses pouring hefty budgets into celebrity deals that feel disconnected from the brand and often leave customers feeling “sold to”—the opposite of what brands are trying to achieve.
