While sharing

meals and conversations with local leaders, a profound need for connection and community for leaders within our area became crystal clear. It was like a lightbulb moment – I knew I wanted to create a space for genuine connection, self-care, and collaborative problem-solving. Imagine quarterly gatherings – dinners, retreats, workshops, or even a fun photoshoot at Green Lakes for fresh headshots. Come as you are – yoga pants or business suits, it doesn't matter! I envision this space as a source of inspiration and encouragement for you—with peer support, self-care and rejuvenation time, professional growth, and opportunities for sharing.

🌿FIRST EVENT will be a one-day local CNY retreat on September 15, 2024 for leaders to come together in community, refill our own wells and creative spirit, and inspire each other with sharing, connection, and open discussion. It would be a chance to reset after a busy summer and get ready for the fall season.

Someone with an active current leadership role in Central New York
Must be in a leadership role and manage or direct a team

A setback after 60 years? This isn't just a trend; it's an economic injury, and frankly, it's an insult to every hardworking woman in this country.

Fresh off the heels of my attendance of the WISE Women's Business Center Economic Forum yesterday, this news comes out today in the Washington Post (via Linkedin):

"For the first time in over 60 years, the U.S. gender pay gap has expanded for two consecutive years, The Washington Post reports, citing Census Bureau data. Full-time female workers made just under 81 cents for every dollar a man earned in 2024; that's a drop from 83 cents in 2023 and 84 cents in 2022. Men's median income went up 3.7% between 2023 and 2024, while pay for women stayed stagnant. Driving factors include a lack of affordable child care and strict return-to-work mandates, per the Post."

The Washington Post's report—that the gender pay gap has expanded for two consecutive years—is deeply infuriating. It shows us exactly where the current system of scarcity and competition is failing.

But we won't stay stuck in complaint. Instead of letting this data pit us against each other, we must see it as a mandate to shift to alignment and trust. We need to support the creation of flexible workplaces and intuitive, purpose-driven leadership that values output, not hours spent in a chair. It is time for us, as women, to negotiate fiercely for our worth and for male allies to actively champion pay transparency and equitable structures. Our path forward is one of genuine support and collective economic elevation, not stagnation.

I've always believed that true leadership is not about having all the answers, but about creating a safe space for others to thrive.
