Got a son, daughter or grandchild who's 6 to 18 years old? Do they like to show out? Here's a chance to show their star potential to the world. Turn on your phone's camera. Then, record their best in story, song, poetry or proverb. If they get chosen for the big stage, they will compete for cash prizes on July 18 at Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse. It's all happening during The Day of Orature, a free, full-day public festival celebrating the spoken word traditions of Africa and the African diaspora organized by the Micere Githae Mugo Foundation and supported by 100 Black Men of Syracuse.
