In it, she interviews her parents about their long marriage and weaves their candid responses with letters, home movies, and photos to produce an intimate glimpse into a complex relationship.

PATRICK JOSEPH CAOILE was born in the Philippines and grew up in New Jersey. His work is featured in Solstice Literary Magazine, Chestnut Review, storySouth, and elsewhere. His debut short story collection Tales from Manila Ave. was the winning selection of Sundress Publications’ 2024 Prose Open Reading Period. I want to keep sharing some of our great advanced workshops! These are great for for writers with lots of experience sharing and talking about their work. Expect to think critically about your goals, choices, and potential gaps in your writing. Our workshops are small-group, so you'll have a lot time for giving and receiving feedback.

Right now, we're registering for our ADVANCED POETRY WORKSHOP led by Georgia Popoff. Georgia is the author of five books of poetry, most recently, Living with Haints (2024), and she is currently Poet Laureate of Onondaga County. Georgia is also a mentor in our low-residency Writers Voice PRO.

You can register for the workshop by calling the Writers Voice of CNY, 315-474-6851 x 480, or by emailing Tim Carter ([email protected]).

We have some great advanced workshops for writers with lots of experience sharing and talking about their work. These workshops ask writers to think critically about their goals, choices, and potential gaps in their writing. They're small-group workshops with other dedicated writers, so you'll have a lot time for giving and receiving feedback.

First, have our ADVANCED PROSE WORKSHOP led by Yvonne Murphy. Yvonne teaches creative writing and studio art at SUNY Empire State University. Her first book, Aviaries, won the Carolina Wren Prize in Poetry. She is also a mentor in our low-residency Writers Voice PRO.

You can register for the workshop by calling the Writers Voice of CNY, 315-474-6851 x 480, or by emailing Tim Carter ([email protected]).

HYBRID CRYTPIDS explores the landscape of contemporary experimental writing, and asks writers to get your hands dirty with texts that bend, twist, and mimic different genres and forms.

Our classes at the Writers Voice are open to everyone, but anyone who is a member of a YMCA of CNY can take one workshop each season for FREE. We want to make writing available and accessible to everyone. We're ready for you.

The best way to register is online:
