We are a not-for-profit association representing more than 330 organizations and 55,000 employees across 26 counties in Central Upstate New York.

The Manufacturers Association of Central New York advocates for the growth and development of New York’s manufacturing sector, a critical component of a vibrant New York economy. MACNY is the largest association of manufacturers in New York State and one of the oldest in the nation. We aim to bring our local businesses and companies together to lower costs, improve profitability, and compete with

manufacturers throughout the country. With the tools, resources, training, and knowledge MACNY provides, your business can compete in both the local and global markets. Manufacturing employs over 550,000 New Yorkers and contributes $65 billion annually to New York State’s GDP. Compared to other sectors of the economy, manufacturers pay higher wages, generate better benefits, and stimulate more high technology growth through research and development and productivity improvements. Simply put, manufacturing is the wealth generating sector of the New York economy.

🌟 A morning dedicated to honoring excellence! 🌟

Yesterday, we celebrated achievements, leadership, success, and the power of talent development! Nearly 200 people gathered at the Museum of Science & Technology - MOST for the 2026 Talent Development Awards, presented by United Radio! Hosted by MACNY, Manufacturers Talent Institute - MTI, and Partners for Education & Business, Inc., the event honored the students, educators, employers, and workforce champions who are building the future of talent development.

Thank you to Eric Peckham, Director Global Manufacturing Engineering at Belden Inc. for an insightful keynote that highlighted the importance of investing in your workforce to strengthen talent pipelines and drive long-term success.

Congratulations to all of the award recipients! It's your hard work, and dedication that's forging the future in New York State, and you should be very proud of all you've achieved. 🏆

🏭 What can a century of manufacturing experience teach us about workplace safety and continuous improvement?

Members of MACNY's Safety Council found out during last week's tour of Morse Manufacturing, a company that has designed and manufactured drum-handling solutions for more than 100 years.

Following an introduction from their 3rd-generation President, Nate Andrews, attendees learned about Morse's newly completed 5S event focused on its First Aid Program and heard about the company's experiences working with the New York State Department of Labor's Consultation Programs.

The afternoon concluded with networking and refreshments at Bull and Bear Roadhouse, providing an opportunity for members to continue the conversation. 🤝

MACNY in the Mohawk Valley! ✂️🎉

Today was the official ribbon cutting ceremony for MACNY's new office in the Mohawk Valley! This expansion marks an exciting new chapter in our continued growth and reinforces our commitment to supporting manufacturers across the state.

With the opening of this new office, we're enhancing our longstanding investment in the region while expanding access to industry resources, advocacy efforts, and talent development initiatives. This expansion will also support the continued growth of the Manufacturers Talent Institute - MTI, our talent development engine that connects students, educators, and job seekers with in-demand manufacturing careers while helping employers build a strong, sustainable workforce pipelines.

Today's event brought together manufacturers, community partners, educators, and local leaders to support our shared vision for strengthening the local manufacturing industry. We're grateful to the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce and NYS Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschonn's office for their recognition of this new era of growth — and to our distinguished speakers, Michael Frame, Randy Wolken, Ross Berntson, CEO of Indium Corporation and Allison Madmoune, Regional Director for the Mohawk Valley Region at Empire State Development, and all of our guests for joining us in celebrating this important milestone in our organization's growth!

Empower the next generation of women in STEM! 🚀💪

The interest form for Future Women in STEM is now open! Don't miss this opportunity to connect your team and company with local students and their families!

This free program encourages middle school girls to explore and pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Women professionals from local companies lead students and their families through a fun, hands-on activity geared to spark their interest in STEM careers. The program runs on the second Saturday of every month from 10 - 11 AM from October through May at the Museum of Science & Technology - MOST!
