Most packs have a fall kickoff event, but what about a summer kickoff event?
Here’s a fun idea from a Cub Scout pack showing how to start the season strong and keep families engaged all year long.
☀️ In Gainesville, Florida, Pack 127 celebrated the start of summer vacation with a foam party right on the lawn of their Scout cabin. Kids came ready for fun in swim gear while the whole pack turned an ordinary day into an unforgettable kickoff to summer.
According to leaders, summer can be a quieter season for Scouting, so events like this give families a chance to stay connected, enjoy time together, and invite new families to see what Scouting is all about.
Fun in the foam is a low-barrier-to-entry chance to welcome new youth, share the spirit of Scouting, and show how Cub Scouts builds character, leadership, and confidence through shared experiences and outdoor adventure. And, have FUN!
Scouting does not have to slow down when school lets out. Sometimes the best recruiting and retention moments happen when families are simply having fun together.
