Here are the details for the NABET-CWA Local 211 Spring Fling get together on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from Noon-5pm at Onondaga Lake Park's Bayview Shelter. Toss 'n Fire will have "buffet style" pizzas being served from 12-4pm with the following 5 pizzas being included: Cheese, Pepperoni, Salt Potato, Garlic Spinach Regatta and Meatball pizzas. There will be Gluten free pizza available on request and the union will be provided water bottles, but members can bring their own drinks (alcohol) if they so choose. For those that may want to bring lawn games and small things as activities during the event, those are welcome as well.

Please sign up at either station on the Union bulletin board at WSTM or WSYR for members working at those respective stations, Retirees can email [email protected] for their RSVP if you did not receive an email.

We ask that everyone RSVPs to this event by the end of the day on Friday, May 15, 2026. This is ONLY for Union members/retirees. Partners, spouses, significant others, dates, friends, etc are not included in this event.

This is a great event to meet your other union brothers & sisters at each local station and a chance to meet the union workers who have helped us get where we are from the past with our retirees that are invited.

The following statement is from CWA President Claude Cummings Jr.:

With heavy hearts, our union mourns the death of Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a fellow union member of AFGE Local 3669. As his union siblings remember him, Alex was dedicated to caring for our veterans in the ICU and treated all with respect. Our thoughts are with Alex’s loved ones and union siblings.

In this great country, an ICU nurse should be safe in his own community. Union members and all working people should feel safe going to work. Parents should feel safe sending their children to school. But when I met with CWA members in Minnesota last week, I heard again and again that hardworking people feel that their communities are under attack.

Safety on the job is a core concern of the labor movement. But so is our safety when we return home to our communities and when we send our children to school. Our rights as union members and as Americans are built on the fundamental right to peacefully demonstrate without fear of being killed. The chaos and violence that ICE has wrought in Minnesota must end. It is time to listen to the will of the people and get ICE out of Minnesota.

We mourn the loss of one of our founding members of NABET-CWA Local 211 and president emeritus of the Local. He touched so many lives with his good news reporting and was a class act through and through. May you rest in peace Mike, a truly great man that this world has lost. We send our condolences and sympathy out to his family, friends and colleagues.
