Read to Students at CNY Schools

Slots are still available, please volunteer!

CNYWBA will once again be hosting the award-winning Read Across America program at two local schools and donating books to each school’s library.

This year’s program will be hosted at East Syracuse Elementary School on Thursday, April 23, 2026, and at Main Street Early Education Program on May 1, 2026.

We are looking for volunteers to read at each school and hope that you can participate. It is allowed and encouraged for readers to choose multiple schools and/or multiple time slots. Each year we ask readers to bring an age-appropriate book to offer to read in the classroom and/or leave behind to enhance the teacher’s personal library. Some teachers will have their own books and selections, and other teachers may ask readers to stay to read another story.

We hope you can find time to participate in this fun and rewarding event where readers are met with enthusiastic children excited for a visitor to read them a story. Please consider volunteering for the 2026 reading event.

If you are interested in reading, please register for time slots using the link below and you will be contacted with additional details. If you have any questions, reach out to [email protected] or Read Across America chair Amy D'Ambrogio at [email protected].
