Last week, The Reading League's Kari Kurto and Dr. Doreen Mazzye joined faculty from educator preparation programs across Montana for a two-day Summit made possible through Montana's Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) Grant.

Colleagues from the Montana Office of Public Instruction and the State Superintendent joined them to discuss building alignment within institutions, across higher education programs statewide, and with local school district leaders.

Coherence across all levels of educator preparation creates lasting impact. We are grateful for the commitment of Montana’s education leaders, the support of the CLSD grant, and the exciting work ahead as these partnerships continue to grow.

📣 The Reading League is now an approved California Literacy Professional Development Provider!

Through California’s statewide approval process under Assembly Bill 121, we look forward to partnering with LEAs and school districts across the state to provide evidence-aligned professional learning for TK–5 educators and leaders.

California has allocated $200 million for literacy professional development from 2026–27 through 2029–30, creating an important opportunity for schools and districts to invest in approved professional learning.

Our California offerings include core knowledge professional learning, curriculum adoption and implementation support, and job-embedded coaching designed to help educators and leaders connect evidence-aligned practices to their local curricula and systems.

We look forward to partnering with California educators and leaders as they strengthen literacy instruction for all students.
