Updowntowners The UpdownTowners of Syracuse, Inc. is an organization comprised of individuals concerned with promoting the social and cultural growth of downtown Syracuse.

While many Updowntowners are downtown business people, this is not a requirement for membership. The common bond between all Updowntowners is their desire to make downtown Syracuse a vibrant and exciting place to live, work and shop as well as conducive for entertainment, educational, and cultural activities.

Last week the Updowntowners of Syracuse were pleased to present our most recent Downtown Award for Excellence to Ralph Rotella. Over the past 15 years, Ralph's annual shoe drive has collected and donated over 300,000 pairs of shoes to the Rescue Mission. Ralph's skill, hard work, and diligence continue, as this year's collection is well underway and hoping to set a new annual record!
Stop in at Discount Shoe Repair at 114 E. Washington Street to congratulate him, and maybe leave a donation of your own.
