This past weekend at the NYSUT Board meeting, leaders from across New York — from Pre-K through higher education — engaged in important conversations about the role technology plays in our classrooms.
Together, we took action to ensure educators have a seat at the table when decisions are made about how and when technology is used in teaching and learning. Teachers are the experts. We see firsthand what our students need and the impact excessive screen time can have on learning, engagement, and human connection.
It’s time to let teachers teach. Our students deserve teacher-led instruction, meaningful interaction, and classrooms built on communication, critical thinking, and relationships. Stand with educators as we continue to fight for strong public schools and student-centered learning. NYSUT - A Union of Professionals AFT
