We are a day late, but our message is still heartfelt! 💛🖤
🏒 Happy National Coaches Day! 🏒
There’s something pretty special about National Coaches Day at Valley Youth Hockey Association.
National Coaches Day was first proclaimed in 1972. Just one year later, in 1973, Valley Youth Hockey Association was organized—meaning these two traditions have been around together for more than 50 years.
For more than five decades, Valley coaches have done so much more than teach hockey.
They’ve taught kids how to work together.
How to compete.
How to handle adversity.
How to be a good teammate.
How to win with humility—and learn from a loss.
And most importantly, they’ve shown our players what it means to show up, care, lead and give back.
To every Valley coach—past and present—who has spent countless hours at the rink, tied skates, planned practices, encouraged a player, stayed late, arrived early and helped shape the next generation:
THANK YOU. 💛🖤
You aren’t just building better hockey players.
You’re building stronger people.
Happy National Coaches Day to the coaches who make Valley what it is. 🦅🏒
