📷 Before the White House, there was Central New York…

Long before Yoichi Okamoto entered the Oval Office with a camera, he was finding his way in Central New York. At Colgate, in the ballrooms of the Hotel Onondaga, and inside a Syracuse newsroom, this is where it all began. His extraordinary career did not just pass through this region, it began here.

Yoichi Okamoto: Photographer in the Service of Democracy is on view now at Art in the Atrium, 201 East Washington Street; free and open to the public through November 15. We are grateful to be able to offer extended hours for this exhibit:

📅 Wed–Fri: 12–6pm
📅 Sat–Sun: 12–8pm
