On October 22, Iโ€™ll take the stage in Saratoga at DisruptHR Capital Region 6.0 for my third DisruptHR experience!

Our President, Alyce Basil, challenged us with: โ€œThere are no bad teams, only bad leaders.โ€

I had the opportunity to serve as an evaluatorโ€”one of my favorite Toastmasters roles because great leadership, much like great communication, grows through positive, constructive feedback, reflection, and practice.

Grateful for our Area Directorโ€™s visit and another meeting of sharpening the skills I also bring into my work with leaders and teams. ๐ŸŽค

โ€œCommon sense is a flower that doesnโ€™t grow in everyoneโ€™s garden.โ€

A presenter dropped this line at a recent training I attended, and Iโ€™m pretty sure half the room immediately thought of someone.

But hereโ€™s the leadership twist:

Whatโ€™s obvious to YOU isnโ€™t always obvious to THEM.

So before we blame the garden, maybe we should check how clearly we planted the message.

Good leadership requires fewer assumptions and better communication.
