When CNY Fair Housing reached out to media outlets in February to provide background for the Waterbury case, we took the opportunity to ask - would they cover the story unfolding at Nob Hill Apartments too?

We had just begun to uncover details about the real owners hidden behind Nob Hill Apartment Group LLC.

To our surprise, a reporter from The New York Times agreed. In April, he visited Syracuse to listen to tenant testimony in court and tour the grounds of the neglected complex.

The resulting articles show the tragic human impact of private equity's grip on housing — both locally in Syracuse and across the country.

CNY Fair Housing remains committed to the fight for safe, affordable, accessible housing. We are proud to have supported the Nob Hill Tenants Association as tenants successfully pursued 7-D cases, organized for better conditions, and kept public attention on what was happening at their complex. That work has earned continuous media coverage, most recently on the front page of The New York Times Metropolitan section this past weekend.

The work at Nob Hill is far from over, and we will continue supporting tenants as they organize for the safe, dignified housing they deserve.

Learn your rights, how to advocate for yourself, what to do if you have a neglectful landlord, and meet other tenants in the community as we get more organized to protect each other!
