🛁 Bath time is the perfect opportunity to help your little one build independence!

Giving your child chances to participate in everyday routines—like washing with a washcloth or helping get dressed—supports the development of important self-help and motor skills. These skills take time and lots of practice, so celebrate the small steps along the way.

Parenting is full of special moments, learning experiences, challenges, and growth. Whether you're reading a bedtime story, sharing a meal, helping your child through a hard day, or celebrating a new achievement, these everyday moments make a big difference in a child's life.

On this Global Day of Parents, we celebrate the parents, caregivers, grandparents, and families who care for, guide, and support children every day. Thank you for the love, time, and dedication you give to helping children grow and thrive. 💙

Free family fun is on the way at Big Rig Day 2026!

Getting outside, exploring, and playing together helps children build confidence, curiosity, and important developmental skills through hands-on experiences.

Thank you to Syracuse Parks & Rec for creating opportunities for families to connect, play, and enjoy time together in our community. Be sure to check out the shared post below for all the details! 🚒🚛🚓

Celebrate National Kids to Parks Day at Burnet Park for Big Rig Day 2026!

Children and their families can climb behind the wheel of some of the City's big trucks from the Police, Fire, Public Works, Parks and Water departments, as well as other rigs from local organizations.

Sensory hour will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for guests who would prefer a quieter environment. Horns and sirens will not be used during this time.

Parks Mobile Recreation will be on-site with carnival-style games and activities, including an inflatable obstacle course. Guests can also participate in arts and crafts projects in the Burnet Arts & Crafts Facility. Local non-profits and health organizations will be on-site to provide information on available community resources.

This event is free to attend.

Today is Earth Day, a reminder that even small hands can make a big difference for our planet.

Young children are natural explorers—watching worms in the soil, feeling the breeze, or helping water a plant are all powerful early learning moments.

Try a simple Earth Day activity at home today:
🌱 Plant a seed in a cup or garden
🚶‍♀️ Take a “listening walk” outside—what do you hear?
♻️ Sort recycling together and talk about where things go

These everyday moments build curiosity, care, and connection to the world around us.

Everyday moments with caring adults are what matter most in early childhood. Reading together, talking, laughing, and sharing routines help children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

You don’t need special activities; your attention and presence are what make the biggest difference.

This , slow down and enjoy time together as a family.
